Online marketing fills more about more in our journey on the web. It’s rare we think about it as much as when it first became a thing. Have consumers become banner blind or are our online marketing as good as before? It is super relevant to give a thought when you as a company have to choose which marketing is most profitable for just them.

What is advertising blindness/banner blindness

The online marketing has intensified and fills more and more in our everyday lives. The internet is a loophole for all of us and no matter what the purpose is, when we jump on it, an advertisement pops up for sure. There are many different advertisements and banners on the web, but one thing is certain, the online marketing has taken over.

We all know that the modern Dane is super-adaptable and this applies both to our movements and biologically speaking. If, as humans, you are exposed to something concentrated for a long period of time, then over time we become resistant. This is exactly what several companies and experts fear, that the Danes are becoming, in the face of digital marketing.

Consumers have set up a filter, where the ads have difficulty passing through. But is it basically about a bad segmentation?

If we read news online, there are often a lot of banner ads that are not necessarily targeted to the individual consumer. It is they who are more easily filtered out and can no longer remove the consumer’s focus on what they are really doing.

The common themes

In the past, it was perhaps only a few companies that used banner advertising and online marketing-companies that were usually in the same industries. Now the internet contains a wealth of advertisements from all sorts of industries.  Nevertheless, there are three industries that dominate especially on the banner advertising front. It may not be the industries we love the most, but it is the three industries that are absolutely best at what they do.

The gaming industry

The word game has the advantage that already when we hear it we associate it with something relaxing and positive. But for example, video games have been very adept at coming up with names that catch and signal exactly what users can expect. In addition, the video game manufacturers have been adept at using visual elements in their marketing such as trailers just as we see it in the movie world.

Content marketing is also used by various sites, such as the popular bet365 casino, which we have all seen both on television and on the web. It is about building a loyalty with the customers and here the digital market sphere plays a big and important role. Here, for example, one uses promotions with deposit bonuses, welcome bonuses and free spins for new customers as well as VIP Club and good customer service for the existing customers.

Fitness and health

Health and Fitness catch the attention of most people. It is quite simply the reason why it is very important in our culture. There is a huge focus on health and beauty ideals in our society and therefore it is far easier to catch the attention of consumers.

Health and fitness are as if created for content marketing and they are also one of the most successful industries in this discipline. There is a lot of good marketing to get on the web and especially social media, where influencers live by presenting you with the perfect lifestyle. Both larger companies and sole proprietorships, for example, can use an Instagram account to #hashtag promotional codes, weight loss challenges or fitness goals.

Entertainment industry

The entertainment industry is also something that bites more and more firmly in us. More and more young people especially love to go out and do something with friends and family. Cultural experiences are coming back on the wallpaper.

It may come as a minor surprise that the entertainment industry is one of the leading industries in this particular area. But that does not mean that we cannot learn anything new from it. The music, film, theatre and book industries have – or should have at least-a presence on every platform on the web.
