New consumer surveys show that even though Danes are among those who spend the most money on their pets in the EU, this is far from enough. Thus, over 90% of respondents announced that they were counting on spending even more money on their pets during 2016. It is especially on the web of Danes shopping for their animals.

The crowned days for pets continue

Previous studies have shown that Danes are among those who spend the most money on accessories and accessories for their pets. This trend has been gelling for several years, which previously meant that the pet industry was the fastest growing industry after the financial ice in Denmark. Despite the bad economic times, revenue in the industry rose from 3 billion in 2010 to 3.5 billion in 2013 and since then, growth has continued at an unhindered pace.

Thus, according to a survey made in late 2015, more than 96% of Danes expect to spend even more money on their pets during 2016, while only 4% expect to spend either the same amount or less on their pets.

Especially healthy feed and clothes big seller

It is especially clothes and feed Danes prefer to put in the shopping cart. As with the rest of the community, many pet owners would like to pay extra for healthy dog food and cat food for animals so that they have a better life. In addition, Toys for animals have also become much more widespread than in the past. Many sociologists point out that the increasing number of singles in Denmark is driving this development, as it is especially among singles that a lot of money is spent on pets.

The animals have quickly become a substitute for lovers and spouses, which explains why many choose to demand things that were previously more closely associated with humans rather than animals, as it helps to humanize the animals.

However, it is not only in Denmark that this trend makes itself Gill-loving. Sociologists report similar trends in all the Nordic countries.

The internet has become the favorite place to trade equipment for animals

It is especially on the web that Danish pet owners choose to buy things for their pets. This is mainly due to the lower prices that are found on everything from feed to dog cages to clothing and toys. But in addition, many also emphasize both the larger range of goods, as well as the practical element that you can get your goods delivered right to your door rather than filling the car yourself with everything from cages to large bags of feed.

Last year, there were over 900,000 pet owners in Denmark, which corresponds to one in three households in Denmark.
