The company could be making marketing moves for its new virtual and augmented reality viewer.

Samsung he has sent an application (last Friday) to the European Union Intellectual Property Office, which has detected Galaxy Club, to register the trademark AMOLED ANTI SDE, that is, what looks like a category for AMOLED type screens without screendoor effect (grid). The document did not specify whether it is any new method, as presented by Valve or LG, or if it is simply to increase the resolution of the screens, just that applies to “apparatus and instruments image of RV, simulators in the form of glasses for RV and imaging devices in the form of glasses-RV”, among others.

Taking into account that in the last Display Week 2018 Samsung introduced a new panel OLED to 2.43″ with a resolution of 1920×2160 (half 4K UHDV), 1200 ppi and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, it is likely to be a brand that is associated with this new screen that could carry the new hybrid viewfinder (VR and AR) wireless are creating next to Microsoft, and that, in theory, will be presented at the end of August at IFA. In addition, by announcing this 1200 ppi screen, they already explained that they expected it to lead the virtual and augmented reality market by freeing us from the screendoor.

The South Korean company could also carry out the name change of its virtual reality products, at least those associated with the Gear brand, becoming under the umbrella of Galaxy VR. At the moment, the closest appointment for them to share news is on August 9, an event where they will present the Galaxy Note 9.
