Namco confirmed in an interview that VR will be an extra mode with the ability to play infinite battles, without hud or anything, and to visualize custom characters.

Tekken 7 it was announced in October 2015 and until recently it was not known how the saga would be adapted to virtual reality, but last week we had the opportunity to see what it would consist of. The adaptation is based on seeing the combat in the third person, as in the traditional screen, but with the addition of being able to look to the sides. A safe bet and that would not have to affect when it comes to supporting the full game in virtual reality, but this will not finally be so, given that Namco has revealed in an interview with Eurogamer, that it will be an independent mode that we will find in the main menu.

VR Mode has two options: VR Battle that consists of infinite combats against the machine, since we do not have a life bar or interface, and with certain functions disabled; and the VR Viewer that allows you to visualize the characters of the game. A very limited content for a user who only wants to play in virtual reality. Namco has confirmed that if VR mode has enough acceptance, then they will release more content in DLC format. So this approach to the virtual world seems rather a small experiment without risking, just like other well-known sagas such as Tomb Raider or Call of Duty have done.

When we select the VR Battle option, as we can see in the previous video, we get an alert message that tells us that this mode uses a different control system than normal and that it is only compatible with gamepad. In VR mode we can change the angle of the camera, disable slow motion and other features.

Tekken 7 will be available from June 2nd on PC, Xbox One and PS4, the latter being the only platform with support for virtual reality mode with PSVR.
