The European division of Vive has a new general manager who will be responsible for overseeing the entire hardware and software business of HTC’s virtual reality platform.

Paul Brown he has been appointed new general manager of HTC Vive Europe, based in the company’s London office, Brown will oversee Vive’s content, software and hardware business in the European market. He comes to HTC, after six years as general manager at Digital D2C and Disney Interactive for the territory of Europe, Middle East and Africa, where he led the launch of the Disney music and video subscription service. Previously, he was in other companies such as Spotify, Sony Music, Pandora Media and Hogan Lovells, where he started his professional career.

“I am incredibly excited to be joining the Vive team. Virtual reality has the potential to change the world and really unleash our imagination. HTC Vive is leading the way in VR technology and immersive content and we’re only at the beginning of the journey, similar to how we were with on-demand music and video streaming a decade ago. I look forward to working closely with the global Vive team to ensure that we maintain and build, with our partners, on our position as a leader and pioneer in the VR space,” added Brown.

Brown’s arrival at Vive Europa comes a day after it became known that Chet Faliszek, SteamVR’s public face for developers, had left Valve.
