After three consecutive years and coinciding with the novelty of access by the general public, Oculus will not have its own stand in which to show its hardware.
Attendees at this year’s E3 will not find the classic Oculus booth that had been present since the 2014 edition, VentureBeat has reported. Despite this movement, the event will continue to have the presence of Oculus virtual reality devices, since some of the developers supported by the company will be present to show their upcoming titles. The full list of stands with Oculus games will be available soon.
Oculus’ decision comes at a time of changes both for them, with the departure of Palmer Luckey and the new structure, and for E3, which will be the first year where the general public will be able to access the event. Oculus is currently not preparing any imminent news regarding its hardware and has all its devices on the market, so in the face of the press there is nothing new to show and possibly for the general public the company has other plans.
Apart from Oculus, other companies such as EA, Disney Interactive and Activision will skip the event or have their press area elsewhere. E3 is one of the biggest exhibitions of the year, although Palmer Luckey himself indicated to us in 2015 that from his point of view Gamescom was even bigger.
