Locked In, the new multiplayer experience from Minority Media, creators of Time Machine VR, will use photogrammetry in Daydream thanks to its partnership with the company Graphine.

Minority Media intends to add a higher level of immersion to its upcoming title Locked In, an exclusive Daydream multiplayer experience built with Unity. Graphine is currently porting its Unity texture streaming plugin for Android, which will allow you to use large textures on mobile devices. To achieve the photorealism of these high-quality textures, the photogrammetry technique is used with which they scan the environment, and their rendering in these circumstances requires a streaming system that controls performance and memory utilization.

“The mobile platform is a challenge for high-quality graphics. We are excited to partner with Minority and be able to apply our years of graphic optimization experience in their project,” commented Aljosha Demeulemeester, CEO of Graphine. The Granite mobile texture streaming SDK will be available later this year for some Granite users.
