AntVR promised a wireless HMD with a gamepad that turned into a pistol and compatible PCs and consoles. However, it has not started its journey on the right foot, judging by the first analysis we have seen.

AntVR successfully completed a Kickstarter campaign a little over 6 months ago, raising more than $250,000, but it seems that, at the moment, the product is very far from what was announced. Mark Shamm from VR-Bits (creators of Darkfield) has received the product and has not hesitated to call it a scam, clearly saying that it even exceeds the line of what would be bad virtual reality.

In the video you can see details such as plastic lenses that are also damaged, and Mark comments that the build quality is so bad that it feels like it could break. In short, you are left with the feeling of having bought a giant screen multimedia player instead of a virtual reality viewer. The headtracking is very far from working well, and even unexpected movements occur, such as the demo interpreting a head tilt when we move it to the sides. These are too basic details that say very little in favor of this kit, of which the bottom window that allows you to see the real world by sliding a tab is probably the best.

In any case, he has thrown down the gauntlet to the manufacturer, indicating that if they send him a new unit that works properly he will be happy to test it again.
