IT service provider Avenga publishes source code at GitHub API gateway Couper as an open source project
With the API gateway Couper, Avenga helps with the creation and operation of API-controlled web projects. Now the IT service provider has released the source code under MIT license on GitHub.

Avenga’s Couper API gateway facilitates the implementation of frontend-driven digitization projects. It performs recurring tasks, including the secure connection of user logins or the stable use of remote sources. This is to relieve the web developers.
For example, Couper allows organizations to design dedicated front-end APIs to quickly introduce new products and specific user interfaces to existing systems and services. In this way, companies could address different user groups precisely.
Avenga sees another use case when outdated systems and structures in the backend delay the development of digital products. By decoupling the front-end and back-end, the API gateway makes it possible to start product development immediately and at the same time to gradually modernize the existing IT infrastructure.
At the same time, Avenga says it increases security when apps are supposed to access business-critical data and resources. Couper simplifies their protection with a configurable access control layer that implements JWT, SAML and OAuth. More information can be found on the Couper website.
