Oslo The advantage: You can switch between the applications as easily as you are used to from websites. Everything is and remains organized in tabs.
The integrated mail program with customizable layout works with virtually all e-mail services, this is ensured by the support of the mail standards POP3 and IMAP. If you need a new or additional e-mail address, you will receive it when you create a Vivaldi account. The account is also needed, for example, if you want to synchronize Vivaldi browser data across different devices.
Schedule appointments with Vivaldi
The calendar can be used only locally or connected to an online calendar on request. It offers three viewing depths for the appointments (minimal, compact or full) and can also be permanently displayed as a sidebar.
The embedded function for creating new appointments is practical: if you have selected text on a website, for example, you click on it with the right mouse button and find the option to create a calendar entry from it in the context menu. Reminders of appointments are not only acoustically possible, but also with customizable visual effects in the browser.
Stay up to date with news – on request in the mail program
The developers have integrated the new feed reader for news feeds into the mail program. There is a Feeds tab under which all subscribed feeds are listed. The news itself is then displayed like mails, marked as read like mails and, by the way, also indexed by Vivaldi, so that you can browse freely like the e-mails.
If news feeds in the mail program do not suit you, the Feeds panel can also open a separate window for reading and managing your news at any time. In any case, Vivaldi recognizes news feeds on websites and highlights them so that users can decide whether they want to subscribe to them. Vivaldi also supports Youtube and podcast subscriptions with corresponding playback functions.
