Aerial is the Canadian startup that, thanks to artificial intelligence, analyzes wireless movements. An idea that has received one last and good news for its development.
Aerial. This name may say very little to most of us, but from now on, this will change. Aerial Technologies is the name of this canadian software startup that has become news for two reasons: the objective it pursues and the interest that its objective is raising among the different actors in the world of technology.
From the hand of Aerial, comes innovation in the area of recognition and analysis of wireless movements. A novelty that has been a stir for many, but who want to join this bet of present and future, where, until now, it had the participation of the open Innovation Area from Telefónica. An exclusivity that now opens its circle to welcome the offer of another important name within the technological field: Intel Capital.
How does Aerial work?
Aerial is based on the use of existing Wi-Fi signals to which a second actor is added: artificial intelligence with machine learning. It is thanks to the latter that you can detect presence and movements, from interruptions in WiFi networks, to data extraction and ultimately make sense of the movement, without the need for hardware, portable devices or additional cameras.
An investment of three million dollars
It seems that the bet of Intel Capital has gone for all, and along the way has decided to invest in Aerial a sum of capital that reaches the three million dollars. Alongside this commitment are also follow-up investments from Fonds Innovexport, Kibo Ventures and Telefónica Open Innovation.
A support from the technology sector that gives impetus to this startup, whose functionality is extensible both to the smart home industry, as well as to security, home care, energy management and hospitality.
