The star work of the British Lewis Carroll comes to life in virtual reality. With Alice VR we have a particular version of the fictional world of Alice in which we will find the most famous characters in this story.
Alice VR is a very uncommon proposal in virtual reality, since although Carbon Studio he claims that it has been designed with this medium in mind, it is a title in which none of the anti-dizziness methods that we usually see have been implemented: grid rotation, teleportation, FOV reduction… in Alice VR there is none of this, the control is carried out as before, and this is something that can take its toll on more than one. But that’s not the main problem: given the nature of the game, we will find scenarios in which we can walking on the walls and others whose scale will change in real time when Alicia sees her altered size, which can be devastating, and perhaps is the reason that the game is not available (at least for the moment) on Oculus Home, where they are very strict when it comes to allowing certain experiences that can cause problems for the user.
However, the game can be purchased on both Steam and GoG for a price of €20.69, and is fully compatible with Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and OSVR, so whatever our virtual reality device we will be able to play Alice if we have the stomach to do so. As indicated on the game’s website, by default the gamepad spin is disabled (we will have to turn standing up ourselves) as the jump, but both options can be activated in the game menu. In any case, the game has a magnificent graphic appearance, so it can become an interesting option for those players who crave an adventure with a traditional control system in virtual reality.
