The partners will launch on the Russian market multicloud — cloud infrastructure built on solutions from different vendors/
According to “Kommersant”, the world’s largest cloud provider Amazon Web Services (AWS) enters the Russian market
partnership with Mail.ru Group. Unified access to cloud services will enable Amazon to comply with the legislation on personal data storage in Russia — until now the nearest data center of the company was
in Germany. This made it difficult for Russian companies to work with Amazon — excessive accounting and reporting, currency control and the law on personal data has forced many customers to choose Russian
cloud services.
It was confirmed in Mail.ru Group, saying that the partnership with MCS will help the global AWS customers to freely enter the Russian market, while respecting all the requirements of the local
legislation and Russian customers MCS will have the opportunity to expand rapidly to overseas markets.
AWS is the world’s largest company in the market of cloud infrastructure. Its share in the global revenue of the market in the fourth quarter was $ 32,% nearest competitor — Microsoft Azure with 18%.
The AWS output in Russia will spur competition and level of services on the Russian market — current share of the world’s leading cloud providers in Russia is 8% of the market.
Mail.EN Group has entered the cloud market, its share is unknown. Now the largest reseller of the services of foreign cloud providers, including Microsoft and Google, is a Softline with a share of 7%.
Penetration of cloud services in Russia does not exceed 10% of the potential market, and in the world the figure is 60%.
