AMD’s latest GPU, which is capable of delivering performance similar to the RTX 2080, will be available next month.
AMD he has presented at the CES his new 7nm graphics card: the AMD Radeon IIwhich has twice as much memory and offers, compared to Radeon RX Vega 64 cards, higher bandwidth (2.1 x), up to 29% higher average performance in games and up to 36% higher average performance in content creation applications. They share that the GPU was designed to deliver exceptional performance in the latest titles, including those in virtual reality. In this sense, the Radeon VII does not have VirtualLink, the new connection standard for VR viewers, as confirmed by UploadVR. Since NVIDIA is already introducing this connector into its latest generation of graphics and AMD is part of the standard, they may be reserving their debut for the new Navi architecture, which they are expected to launch this year.
“AMD Radeon VII is the highest performance gaming graphics card we’ve built. It’s designed for gamers, creators, and enthusiasts who demand high-quality graphics, uncompromising performance, and immersive gaming experiences, ” he says Scott Herkelman from AMD.
Radeon VII includes 3,840 stream processors at up to 1.8 GHz and 16 GB of HBM2 memory with 4,096-bit interface for 1 TB/s bandwidth. The company showed during the presentation, a chart comparing its performance with a RTX 2080 to run games such as Battlefield 5, Far Cry 5, and Strange Brigade at 4K with the settings at maximum, offering results of fps virtually identical.
It will be available on February 7 for $ 699.
