Fast Travel’s first VR game, which was released last year, achieved one of its best months in December.
The CEO of Fast Travel Games, Oskar Burman, has returned to share through Twitter the percentage of sales that accumulates Apex Construct in each of the platforms on which it is published, being the Sony platform (with 58%) where more units have sold to date, even surpassing the sum of Steam (23%), Oculus Store (19%) and Viveport (less than 1%). It is the second time that Burman publishes the exact percentages of each store, and is that in May of last year the situation was just the opposite, with Steam and Oculus Store accumulating the majority of sales. The truth is that at the end of August we could already know that the trend was changing with a higher rise of PSVR and a fall of Oculus Store, as we were told at Gamescom.
“Playstation has had an even higher turnout since I last shared the numbers, which is to be expected given indications of strong PSVR sales in 2018. But the VR market as a whole is also clearly growing. December was one of the best months for Apex, so I guess a lot of people found a new VR viewer under the Christmas tree in 2018.”
Burman also says that December was one of the best months for Apex Construct, something that he associates with the possible increase of users with viewers thanks to Christmas, although it is also true that it was then that they released the Cygnia Cup Challenge update that introduced features such as challenge mode and improved locomotion options, which made their first VR title stand out again.
