Apple’s iPhone 14 arrived with several interesting changes in terms of hardware specifications, but new information revealed that there were also modifications in the positioning of the components.
The guys from iFixit have already carried out their traditional video of complete disassembly of the iPhone 14, basically to see how all the components are accommodated. And great was their surprise when they realized that the positioning of some parts was modified to facilitate the repair of the equipment. For example, it is now easier to remove the rear glass, but also the front display, since they are joined by a metal frame in the middle. Watch the video below:
According to iFixit, the rear glass is secured with only two screws and a connector, so disassembly is simpler. In addition, Apple seems to have used a slightly less aggressive adhesive, which makes opening it a little easier than previous screens.
iFixit gave the iPhone 14 a repairability rating of 7/10, the highest since the iPhone 7. It should be remembered that in recent times Apple has begun to be more open about allowing people to repair their own phones, even offering the possibility of ordering parts to change them personally. The new design of the iPhone 14 represents this new philosophy.
