ASCON has released a new version of the design system COMPASS-3D. The composition of the release v19 entered machine-building, instrument-making and construction configuration. Developing in the direction
CAD system heavy class, KOMPAS-3D has received new and improved tools for solving problems of the aircraft industry, shipbuilding and engine. Performance the new version has surpassed
previous and became the fastest in history.
KOMPAS-3D v19 contains more than 70 innovations in the field of interface, three-dimensional modeling, construction drawings, topological optimization, and engineering calculations. Most of them realized for
user suggestions.
Flexible interface
Expanded flexible adaptation interface: KOMPAS-3D allows you to create custom dashboards and configure the name format in the “document Tree”.
3D modeling
The release includes 17 different innovations 3D modeling, from sketch to extrude to improving performance.
In the interests of aircraft and engine builders develops surface modeling — in the 19-th version took the largest for the last 9 years the increase of functionality in this direction. Appeared
analysis tools for curves and surfaces: curvature graph, checking curvature continuity check connection curves.
Expand “shipbuilding” possibilities of KOMPAS-3D. For the design of hull structure and foundations modified by the team “Plate” (the construction of the “Plate boundary”, “Tight contiguity”),
added new commands: “Break the plate”, “Belt” (to build an arbitrary “Zone” with an offset and indentation at the ends), “Puncture” (automatic selection of the cut for permeable structures
corps). For the design of ship systems modified application “Equipment: Piping”: reworked the algorithm of the command “to Build the pipeline,” added “to Create a point
the connect to Isolate the pipeline” and the opportunity to build a flexible hose.
Updated script to work with imported models, it takes into account the conditions мультиCAD environment, when the engineer uses a number of CAD systems. A model created in any CAD system, you need
to save in universal format (STEP, IGES, ACIS, Parasolid, JT), and place the Assembly in KOMPAS-3D with using mates. If the imported model (the source file) will be changed in the source
CAD, then KOMPAS-3D will automatically recognize it. The user will only accept the updated imported component. In many cases, after the updates previously imposed
the pairing will remain operational.
Such a scenario will be in demand as a designer-Builder working with large complicated product with a large chain of cooperative societies and technologist and designer who will be able to apply
in the construction project of objects made in other CAD systems to build the technological environment or layout followed supports, racks and piping equipment.
Textures not only create a realistic representation of the model, but also accelerate the design process. Imitation riffles, ruffles, braids, and nacatoch, perforations, etc. will greatly simplify
work with large assemblies by reducing the “weight” of models and, consequently, increase the speed of operations.
Redesigned control team of the intersection, now called “Check conflicts” and enables the addition of intersections to check the screw connections and finding the gaps between the components at least
a predetermined value. Identified conflicts are highlighted in a different color.
Added the ability to create arrays of the sheet body and a new fillet type (full).
2D-design
Added automatic creation of axis in the drawing. Also implemented rounding size to the desired mark and the establishment of local breakdown in the detail view.
Applications for engineering and instrumentation
There was an application “Optimization IOSO-K” to find the optimal geometry subject to imposed restrictions. The IOSO optimizer-K will be useful primarily to those involved in engineering
calculations in KOMPAS-3D. The application can work independently and together with other design applications APM FEM and KompasFlow.
In the topological optimization module APM FEM added tools to smooth polygon optimized model and converting it into a solid.
Industry-specific applications of KOMPAS-3D in the new versions differ enhanced functionality and productivity growth:
- Completely redesigned “Equipment: Cables and harnesses”. Its speed increased by 15 times. Added generate trajectories of cables and harnesses splines, construction lines for
the isolated compounds. - “Mechanics: Spring”: smartmates springs when placed in the Assembly;
- “Equipment: Piping”: the restoration of the pipe body when the element is removed;
- “Hardware: Metal”: added tools for simulation of metal sheet structures.
Construction applications
The integration between applications working on the same technology design MinD (Model in Drawing model in the drawing). As a result, the drawing will show the information on which experts
adjacent sections will be able to automate the creation of their drawings and models. Example is updated to “Manager of the premises in Architecture: AU/AR”. He describes the characteristics of
areas, counts the number of squares is the explication of premises. Now in the “premises Manager” you can set environmental parameters, the requirements for light and other properties of the premises
for the needs of electricians and engineers.
COMPASS objects got new modes of insertion “is Not taken into account in the area of the premises” and “Always simplified projection”, which also supports further integration between applications.
In the “Building configuration” developed new app “Teplovye SETI: TC”, which automatiseret preparation and issue of working documentation for the laying of thermal networks in accordance with
requirements GOST 21.705-2016 “System of design documents for construction (ASAP). Rules of execution of working documentation of heating networks”. The program operates in the environment “COMPASS-Schedule” and
the principle of operation is similar to the app “Gas supply: the GOS” and “External networks: NVK” (they are also updated within the release v19) .
