The new tool to measure performance in virtual reality that is focused on users, developers and manufacturers, is now available for download.
NVIDIA it has announced that FCAT VR, the new virtual reality content performance measurement tool, is now available for download. In 2013, NVIDIA launched FCAT, a free tool that allowed users not only to see the frame rate per second of a game, but also how fluid and with what quality it was on all GPUs. FCAT allows you to analyze the performance in complete detail, informing us of lost frames, multi-GPU failures and much more. The arrival of FCAT VR allows users, developers and manufacturers to analyze the performance of their games and applications on different hardware in order to achieve the best possible experience.
FCAT VR obtains performance information from NVIDIA drivers, Windows event tracking for Oculus Rift and the SteamVR Performance API to accurately generate the analysis on all GPUs. The results will show us graphs to detect when the Asynchronous Space Warp has been used, when it has been interpolated and many other options with which to evaluate the performance of the executed content.
You can find more information on how to carry out the analyses on the following page.
