Hamburg is also new: photorealistic aerial photographs of almost 100 popular sights around the world. The so-called immersive view combines artificial intelligence with high-resolution Street View, satellite and aerial images to create an all-round view. The perspective is reminiscent of a drone flight.
The update also introduced the location sharing notification. It works like this: a user enters that he wants to be notified when his contact has reached or left a specified location. This could be a practical way to protect yourself when someone is traveling alone. This way, family and friends could be notified when the person has arrived back home or at the next destination.
According to Google, this feature only works with contacts who have already previously shared their location with the notified person. The person whose location is being queried is also regularly reminded of the release via mail and push message.
