- According to blockchain analysis platform CryptoQuant, a former Bitcoin miner is said to have woken up from a deep sleep after an eight-year hiatus from broadcasting and sent a proud 1,100 BTC to two separate wallets.
- CryptoQuant published a designated report that analyzes the address of the awakened wallet. The result: before he had not given a sign of life for years, the whale’s wallet is said to have received Bitcoin from nine different addresses.
- The two recipient wallets are not centralized exchanges, according to the analysis platform. Therefore, it should not be assumed for the time being that the massive amount of Bitcoin has been sold.
- However, the fact that one of the recipient addresses uses multi-signatures speaks for a custody service, i.e. a custody service for Bitcoin. These are often used by institutional investors.
- The reasons for the transfer are currently unknown.
