During the current crypto bear market, the Cardano ecosystem continues to grow continuously. With new Java script-based smart contract features, external programmers could easily participate in the ecosystem in the future and program new smart contracts. In addition, Cardano still remains the most developed crypto project.
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson shared a tweet about the first Plutus Core program written in TypeScript on July 25, 2022. TypeScript is a programming language based on JavaScript (an offshoot of Java), which many programmers have mastered. Cardano is based on the rather complex and unknown programming language Haskell, which only a few developers know.
As Michele Harmonic explained, in the future programmers could even program Cardano smart contracts with the help of TypeScript. Therefore, the blockhain could become more attractive not only for many programmers. The Cardano ecosystem could continue to grow with the programming language and scalability could continue to increase.
The advantages of JavaScript for Cardano
JavaScript is a platform-independent and one of the most widely used programming languages for web applications. JavaScript thus offers Cardano developers the opportunity to directly access and interact with web-based applications.
In addition, developers could also use the programming language to save resources and improve the scalability of the blockchain. Michele Harmonic explained in another tweet:
“By using Typescript, programs can also be compiled client-side […] Ideally, it would be possible to generate smart contracts based on user input without the need for a server.”
Client-side means: The programs are executed in the browser, and not on the blockchain itself. The associated relief will result in more transactions or Actions are possible at the same time.
However, the first Plutus Core program written in Typescript is not the only positive news. Cardano still remains the most developed crypto project.
Cardano ecosystem continues to grow
The current crypto bear market doesn’t seem to be stopping the Cardano ecosystem from continuing to grow. In addition to numerous new projects, the blockchain can also score with numerous new codes compared to the competition.
The blockchain analysis company Santiment stated on Twitter that Cardano is still the most developed project in the crypto space. Ethereum occupies just the fourth place according to the Santiment ranking.
Santiment used the number of “Github commits” for the ranking. GitHub is the most widely used service for versioning software projects. The number of commits (updating codes) is therefore an indicator of the interest of developers in a project. In both 2021 and 2022, the Cardano was a leader in this regard.
In addition, the ecosystem has been able to attract more than 40 new active projects in the last four weeks. At the end of June 2022, the number of active Cardano projects rose to over 1000 and is currently at 1040.
ADA Course Update
Despite the many positive developments, things did not look good for the Cardano course this week. After a small weekend rally, the ADA price continued to fall continuously. At the time of publication of the article, the ADA price is around $ 0.46 and still well below the last all-time high of $ 3.10.

The current crypto market could continue for a longer time and the ADA price could also reach new lows this year, as some experts explained in our last Cardano price forecast. However, most of the experts mentioned are optimistic in the long term. According to their forecast, the ADA rate will be above 6 US dollars in 2030.
