Cineveo, the popular virtual cinema for Oculus Rift, has recently been updated to SDK 0.4.4 achieving a great performance improvement, but its author is already working on a new scenario that, he assures, will blow us away.

Version 1.0.5 released last week added new details and effects to some theme rooms, in addition to updating to SDK 0.4.4 to improve performance and benefit from the latency reduction achieved by Oculus and implement some improvements in playback quality, which after all is the most important thing.

We have learned that the next Cineveo stage recreates a drive-in movie from the 60s, and we will be sitting in a beautiful 1958 convertible Buic that will have an extraordinary level of detail, no less than 600,000 polygons. The only thing that Cineveo will not be able to recreate is a virtual couple in the next seat with which to entertain us if the movie seems boring to us… but virtual reality has not reached those levels… yet.
