The development studio Ghost Machine, creators of other games compatible with virtual reality such as SuperBike TT and Motorsport, now show us their new creation, a zombie arcade with an isometric perspective.
We thought that the first-person perspective was the most appropriate for virtual reality, but titles like ToyBox Turbos, Legend of Dungeon or BlazeRush have shown us that other types of perspectives also work wonders in an VR environment. And now the Ghost Machine studio brings us yet another game with a third-person view: Endless Dead VR.
It is a zombie game currently in an early stage of development that, according to its authors, is part RPG and part Gauntlet clone, focused on action, slaughtering zombies and collecting loot, and it is also designed from the beginning with virtual reality in mind. We can play alone or accompanied by a friend in cooperative online multiplayer or survival, and during the game, which will not be very long since the death of the character is permanent, we can improve our equipment and face bosses in epic battles.
Given the good results that the third-person perspective is giving in virtual reality games and taking into account advantages such as lower resource consumption and less possibility of dizziness, it would not be surprising that we continue to see many more games of this type. We would particularly love to be able to try a real-time strategy game in the style of Warcraft III or Age of Empires, or an Action RPG like Diablo.
The game is currently in the midst of a Steam Greenlight campaign, in which you can collaborate by giving it your vote and, if it gets the green light to be published on that platform, they hope to be able to launch it by the end of 2015.
