EPAM and UNICEF has developed information platform “HealthBuddy COVID-19”| 10.07.2020
Company EPAM Systems has announced a partnership with the UNICEF regional office for Europe and Central Asia (ROECA) and the joint development of multifunctional information platform
“HealthBuddy COVID-19” to protect the inhabitants of the countries of Europe and Central Asia.
The platform has brought together the functions previously created EPAM applications “COVID Resistance app” and multilingual interactive chat bot, UNICEF ROECA “HealthBuddy” and helps users to access
reliable information that is associated with the virus, to prevent spreading false information and be a source of recommendations for preventive and protective measures in the fight against COVID-19.
Chat-bot “HealthBuddy COVID-19” available in 9 languages (Russian, English, Greek, Italian, Kazakh, Macedonian, Portuguese, Spanish and Turkish) and in the long term can be localized
for use by national authorities and healthcare organizations. They will be able to inform the public about potential emergencies health and
to promote the vital preventive measures such as vaccination etc. Among other functions, the platform allows:
• all users to quickly get critical information in the field of health, exchange views, to prevent the spread of false information and myths, directly to ask questions medical
employees who participate in the surveys at different stages of the pandemic, to assess side-effects COVID-19 and to use this information to prevent and prevent the spread
coronavirus.
• the health authorities to send alerts with recommendations of people with suspicious or confirmed diagnosis. Users can subscribe to notifications to help keep track
the situation in real time.
• the health workers to access a shared library of knowledge with instructions on what to do in different situations, information about new developments, medications, advanced treatments
and data on actual monitoring of cases of infection.
HealthBuddy consistent with the General rules of personal data protection (GDPR) of the European Union and the Law on the protection of and responsibility for information obtained through medical insurance
(HIPAA). To ensure successful operation of the platform EPAM will continue its technical support to the end of 2021.
