The creators of Ethereon, one of the most aesthetically beautiful demos that we have tested so far, have launched a Kickstarter campaign to create a complete game, an adventure for lovers of exploration and that seeks to attract the attention of followers of classics like Myst or Riven, in fact one of the developers of the latter is part of the team.
Ethereon is an adventure designed for virtual reality based on exploration and puzzles. The goal of its creators is to design a unique and highly optimized environment to achieve a high frame rate per second even on mid-range equipment. They are not the only ones to make such a statement and few achieve it, but their goal, in addition to Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus, is mobile virtual reality, so we do not doubt that they will put all their effort to achieve it.
Ethereon has been conceived with virtual reality in mind. Literally every aspect of the game has been designed to offer the best possible virtual reality experience. In fact, Ethereon will be compatible with Nimble VR to be able to integrate our hands into the game world and interact with objects in the most realistic way possible, pursuing the long-awaited feeling of presence. In addition, they are working on a possible integration with hardware from other companies to add a full avatar.
On our journey into the depths of Ethereon, we will encounter cinematic sequences with underwater creatures and travel deeper and deeper under the surface of an alien world. To reach the heart of this world, we will have to use our intuition, since the puzzles are based entirely on logic using real-world physics.
We can download the demo of Ethereon for Oculus Rift DK2 or for monitor. The Kickstarter campaign ends on December 21 and its goal is to raise $35,800. To get hold of the game we can contribute from $ 20 to $ 40 for the digital edition, depending on whether we want early access, play the beta, etc., or pay $ 55 if we want a limited boxed edition.
