Gladiatorial combat in the arena using motion controllers comes to Steam with Gladius, a fighting game that takes place in ancient Rome and allows us to unleash our thirst for blood and glory.
Gladius is available on Steam Early Access, and will allow us to choose our weapons, train against different enemies and, finally, fight for our freedom in an epic battle against the most powerful warriors and creatures of the ancient world. And is that our enemies will not be limited to other gladiators, but we can face beings such as tigers, skeletons, mummies and even minotaurs. The game makes use of motion controllers to wield sword and shield, and we can unlock new weapons, shields and helmets as we progress in the game.
As for the locomotion system, the guys from Multiverse, developers of the game, offer us a wide variety of options: teleportation, sprint and movement using the trackpad. To make the fight more showy, the public will react to our actions, and they will boo us if they get bored or they will cheer us when we make some really spectacular move. In addition to this, we will have an energy system that will allow us to slow down time to perform spectacular movements that will put the grandstand on its feet.
We can get Gladius for € 7.99, since it has a 20% discount until the next 28th. The game is compatible with SteamVR, so we can run it on HTC Vive and Oculus Rift with Touch.
