The rate of publication of job offers has increased by 37% over the previous year.
In the Google I/O this year, the company just shared some news related to augmented reality, but, as shown by the data that has been shared RoadToVR, Google seems to be accelerating the recruitment of profiles related to both media (VR and AR) in these last few months, in addition to being seeking since last week a technical turning diamond, which will be part of a laboratory’s dynamic R & D with a focus on the creation of “new and original designs” of lenses. For this you will have a close relationship with optical designers and mechanics, thus facilitating the creation of rapid prototypes.
The last three months reflect an acceleration in the pace of jobs.
As we can see in the graph above, the company has recently accelerated the search for profiles related to VR and AR. According to shared, they have registered 59 new job offers in the last 10 months, representing an increase of 37% over the previous 10.
In the field of augmented reality they continue to focus on ARCore and recognition improvements such as those offered by Lens, although the news also jumped this year that they could be working on a HoloLens type viewer. In the face of virtual reality, the past year has presented the new version of View with better lenses and other benefits, and a few months ago they released the standalone Daydream (Lenovo) and showed their work to offer a RV mobile with a visual quality as close as possible to the human visual system, a project that developed with LG display AMOLED 4.3″ and 3840×4800 resolution. The latter company has not shown new features of its SteamVR viewer, although they did register in March a new patent for eye tracking.
This year we have also seen other companies accelerate their hiring in VR and AR, as was the case with Oculus earlier this year, which also invested in the expansion of its offices in Redmond.
