In the last few months that artificial intelligence has exploded, many people have started using it to generate songs. Some people have been in favor, but others like rapper Ice Cube have clearly shown their annoyance. Well, now, the academy in charge of the Grammys revealed that in its plans it is not accepting this type of automated compositions.
The Recording Academy, in charge of managing everything related to the Grammy Awards, revealed in its updated rules manual that there will be very specific cases in which the use of content generated by artificial intelligence will be allowed. For example, if the composition had no human interference at all, it may not be considered for any prize. Now, if the human did most of the composition or if his participation in it is “significant” and only relied on AI, then yes he will be able to qualify.

Basically, the Recording Academy is trying to safeguard the work of its members. Other organizations such as the National Actors Association and the National Screenwriters Association in the United States have taken similar measures, in which they severely punish AI-generated content.
The message is clear: generative artificial intelligence is fine, but only as a support and nothing more.
