Connect an Oculus Quest 2 to a computer: using Oculus Link

If you prefer to use a wired connection, follow the steps below to connect your Oculus Quest 2 to a computer via Oculus Link. This method should work without any problem, unless there is a malfunction in either of the two elements.
You can use the official Oculus Link cable or a high quality USB-C 3.0 cable. However, check individual reviews of third-party cables, as not all are qualified for VR performance.
Step 1: review compatibility requirements to make sure your computer and headset meet all hardware and software requirements.
Step 2: go to the Oculus app on your computer and turn on your headphones.
Step 3: you will need to connect one end of the USB or Oculus Link cable to the USB 3.0 port on your computer. The other end should connect to your headphones.
Step 4: in virtual reality, you will see a message from Allow access to data. Be sure to select Deny.
Step 5: when you see the message Enable Oculus Link, choose Enable.
Connect an Oculus Quest 2 to a computer: using Air Link

If you prefer to use a wireless connection and have Quest 2 headphones, follow the steps below to connect them via Air Link. This method only works with this model.
You will need to ensure that your Quest 2 headphones and the Oculus app on your computer are updated to version 28 (v28) or later, otherwise you will need to go to the manufacturer’s page and update.
Step 1: on your computer, navigate to the Oculus app and choose Setting. In the Beta tab, select the button next to Air Link.
Step 2: put on your headphones and press the Oculus button to open the menu. Choose the Configuration gear icon and select Experimental functions.
Step 3: select the button next to Air Link. Click Continue.
Step 4: in the list of available computers that appears, identify and choose yours and click Paired. Once you’re done pairing, select Start.
The instructions above are what it takes to pair your Quest 2 headphones with your computer for the first time. After the first pairing, future connections should only require activating Air Link through the Quick Actions menu in Settings.
