HP G2 Reverb — a great VR headset, the ideal is hampered by several problems, most notable of which is tracking the controller. If you really want to use an incredibly clear display of the G2, you can do one thing: to synchronize the controllers to Valve Index.
How to use Reverb with HP G2 controller Valve Index
Pairing controllers Valve Index with the Reverb G2 provides superior tracking SteamVR with amazing clarity. It’s also pretty easy to configure if you have a few necessary components.
You need
What you need will depend on what equipment you have SteamVR. If you have an older headset, for example the HTC Vive or Index itself, you already have most of the necessary equipment. But first, let’s consider the basic components.

- Controllers Valve Index
- The base station SteamVR Valve (first or second generation)
It is clear that this is an expensive proposition. But for the actual synchronization of the Index controller with your PC you will also need some kind of receiver. This may be the HTC Vive or Valve Index if you have it already, or the key SteamVR, part of the HTC Vive trackers. Tundra Labs claims that their key is the official version supplied by HTC itself.

Collecting these components, you are ready to go.
Setting
1. Adjust the Valve controller Index via SteamVR. If you have a headset Vive or Index, follow the standard installation process SteamVR to synchronize the Index controller with your PC. Please note that you will need to write another headset connected, if you want to use the controller Index — it does not need to connect to HDMI / Displayport, but it will need to connect via USB and include that controllers could connect to it. If you have a USB key, make sure that they are always connected.
2. Download free tool OpenVR Space Calibrator — Calibrator OpenVR Space is a great software. This is what you will use to cheat your setting to show SteamVR and controllers to Valve Index. You can get it for free here.
3. Run the SteamVR for WindowsMR. To sign in with SteamVR headset Windows VR requires application other than the default, but it’s still available for free. Especially make sure you use this app, if your PC still connected Index or Vive.
4. Run OpenVR Space Calibrator and turn on your controllers Index. To open OpenVR, you need to press the menu button on the right controller MR Windows (not the Windows button, and a small circular button next to it). You should see the logo OpenVR in the lower left corner of the menu. Click it and you will see another screen with two sections at the top. In the left section you will see your hardware Reverb to the list. Now turn on the controller Index, and they should be listed in the second section on the right. At this point, you should also see the controllers in the virtual space.
5. Pairing controllers — now you need to choose one from each controller to the left or right, to synchronize. You can click the “Identify selected device” (Identify Selected Devices) to force the selected controllers to work and make sure you have the correct kit. Now hold the Index controller over the controller G2 (easier said than done, so use both hands) and hit “Start calibration” (Calibration Start). After a short process you should see, as the controller is displaced to more accurately reflect its position in the virtual space. If you are not satisfied, you can try the process again until you achieve the desired result.
6. Restart Windows SteamVR without a controller — it’s time to say goodbye to controllers. Quit SteamVR, be sure to turn off the controller Windows (press the Windows button) and then on the desktop, restart SteamVR. Turn on the controller Index, and they must appear in front of you, and they can be used. They may not appear, but this can be fixed if you disable and re-enable them.
