The Close Friends feature is perhaps one of the most interesting that Instagram created by its own hand and did not borrow it from another application. As you know, this feature allows users to share Stories only for a small number of people. And now, apparently, you’re even going to be able to perform live broadcasts only for your friends.
Hammod Oh is a tweeter known for revealing new features of apps and social networks before they are publicly revealed, or when they are in the testing stage. This time, the user revealed that Instagram is testing a new feature for Live ones, which will allow you to select the audience. On the one hand, public broadcasts work exactly as they do now, for all followers. On the other hand, you can also practice, making a test transmission that only you can see, to make sure that everything works well. Finally there is the broadcast for close friends, for which only they will be notified, so essentially only they will be able to watch it.

Live broadcasts for close friends will be useful for people who already have enough followers, but who are not so big as to be public figures, because this way they can decide exactly who they want to see their broadcasts. Likewise, there are people who sell access to close friends, so the possibility of making exclusive broadcasts for these people could count as an extra benefit.
The function in question is in the testing stage, so it is not yet known when it will reach (or if it will reach) the general public. To do this, we will have to wait for feedback.
