The agreement includes the license and part of the responsible team, which will join the company’s research and development division.
Jaunt has announced the acquisition of Teleporter by Personify, a software system for the capture, processing and volumetric streaming that allows to enter in real time the captured elements in augmented reality applications, among other applications. The operation, for which they have not shared the economic details, includes part of the team (7 key members of the project), the license and 4 patents pending.
“The addition of Personify Teleporter equipment and technology allows us to increase the speed and scope of our research and development as we move forward in the RX field with the Jaunt XR platform at the core of our business,” says Arthur van Hoff, CTO at Jaunt. “We are perfecting full-immersion experiences in virtual, mixed and augmented reality, and we are delighted to advance those technologies with the help of our new Chicago-based team.”
Simon Venshtain, the CTO of Personify, takes over as director of research, leading the new team of 7 people that will be located in the new Chicago office. In this way, Jaunt will boost its initiatives in the field of volumetric capture for its XR platform, a solution for companies that allows partners to distribute all kinds of immersive content in their own applications and channels.
Jaunt’s volumetric technology approach is based on a discrete capture stage and real-time processing, which is sent to other applications through the company’s streaming technology.
