The Chinese walker funded on Kickstarter will not be sent to the homes of those international backers, but to the nearest port.
KatVR it has informed, in a new update of the Kickstarter campaign, that they will not be able to carry out the shipment of the walker Kat Walk to those who supported the project and whose shipping address is located outside of China, although the company offers an alternative that consists of sending the walker to the nearest port and once there the user takes care of all the costs of taking it to his address. The 140kg of the walker and its height of 2.20 meters plus 1 meter wide do not facilitate the task of shipping logistics and KatVR has failed in the estimates it carried out when launching the campaign, skyrocketing the cost of shipping by up to 500 dollars for those users residing in the United States. The company has sent an email to all those affected, in which they explain that they have preferred to offer this alternative rather than directly cancel all international shipments.

It is not the first time this has happened with a walker, since the Virtuix company had the same problem with Omni, but without being able to offer a shipping alternative as KatVR is doing where the user will be the one who decides if he wants his money back or take care of everything involved in shipping by boat.
