Building materials, fuels and office software: Record inflation is being felt by German companies in all business areas, including IT. Several software manufacturers and cloud service providers have announced price increases in recent weeks and months, some of them significant.
There is the software manufacturer SAP, which wants to introduce an automatic annual price increase of 3.3 percent for its cloud products. The hosting provider Hetzner, who charges ten percent for the rental of servers and other products. Or the IT group Microsoft, which already increased the price of the Office 365 program package by up to 25 percent in March.
The general inflation is an important argument for the providers. It has a “significant impact on all business areas, including the digital sector,” argues, for example, the cloud provider OVH, which therefore makes many products ten percent more expensive.
