Microsoft is also planning a March 9, 2021 to abandon support for their existing version Microsoft Edge. After that date the old version of Edge will no longer receive security updates.
All Windows 10 users will be transferred to the new Edge browser Chromium-based. New devices and future updates of Windows will include a new browser Edge.
Microsoft for many years working to stop using Internet Explorer and its support. Edge browser was first introduced in 2015, codenamed Project Spartan.
It was the beginning of the end for the brand of Internet Explorer. Since then, Microsoft has Internet Explorer marked as a “compatibility solution” and not as a browser, and urged the company to stop its
use.
