I just tried the demo for a few minutes and the truth is that it leaves a lot to be desired. The menu is at least well adapted to the Rift so in that aspect there is no problem, except that you press ESC to remap controls, which then a small window appears that renders only in the right eye, you can only see half and with all the texts inverted as if we saw it reflected in a mirror.
The graphic aspect I would say is simpler than that of the Live for Speed (even in maximum quality and with all the extras activated), but at least it goes totally smoothly for me in direct mode. It would already be a crime if it were not so because as I say graphically it leaves much to be desired.
I’ve tried it with the gamepad of the xbox360 because although the logitech steering wheel option appears in controls (I have a driving force gt), it doesn’t seem to work. The game is so extremely easy that even a player like me, who practically never plays car games, I have spent the demo without ever releasing the accelerator and without pressing the brake at all, coming in first position on the first attempt. With that I think everything is said (in novice mode, yes, but still….)
It’s very good that Ghost Machine bets on VR, but a minimum of quality at least has to be demanded. If they put out games like churros and they’re not worth a penny, we don’t do anything either.
