We are getting closer and closer to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, the anime adaptation of the world created by CD Projekt RED for Cyberpunk 2077. A new trailer was released today and the release date was confirmed by the way.

This Wednesday, Netflix shared on YouTube and social networks a new trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, the anime created by Studio Trigger, animator of Kill La Kill and Little Witch Academia, among others. According to Netflix, the series tells a 10-episode standalone story about a street kid trying to survive in Night City, a city of the future obsessed with technology and body modification. “With everything to lose, the boy stays alive by becoming an edgerunner, a mercenary outlaw also known as cyberpunk.” Watch the video below, which demonstrates the quality of its animation and also the violence of its themes:

On the other hand, the video also confirmed that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will be released this September 13th, so we will only have to wait 2 scarce weeks to enjoy it. In addition to being animated by Studio Trigger, this series is also being directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi (Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill, Promare) and the soundtrack is being composed by Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill).
