NVIDIA announced that the world’s leading manufacturers are bringing to market a record number of laptops based on its revolutionary Turing GPU architecture – including the fastest, thinnest and lightest systems ever created.
More than 40 new laptop models in more than 100 configurations will be available later this month. They will be powered by NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX GPUs, which fuse the performance of next-generation shaders with real-time raytracing and AI to blur the line between movies and games with cinematic-quality rendering.
“Laptops are the fastest-growing gaming platform, and they’re just getting started,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, who introduced the line at the start of the annual CES conference. “The world’s leading manufacturers are using Turing to bring the performance of the next-generation console to slim, sleek laptops that gamers can take anywhere. Millions of people around the world, a whole generation, are growing up in the game. I can’t wait for them to experience this new wave of laptops.”
Turing-based laptops will be available in the entire GeForce RTX family, from the RTX 2080 GPUs to the RTX 2060 GPU.
RTX teams up with Max-Q
Seventeen of the new models feature the Max-Q design, an innovative approach to the world’s thinnest, fastest and quietest gaming laptops. Max-Q hits the nail on the head of GeForce gaming with its incredibly sleek design, thinner 20mm layouts, narrow bezels, 144Hz displays and extraordinary battery life.
With quieter and cooler operation, many use NVIDIA Optimus® technology to deliver up to 2x longer battery life.
The Max-Q design and NVIDIA RTX™ technology deliver the next generation of slim, high-performance laptops for gamers. And up to 2x the performance of a PlayStation 4 Pro, laptops can play the latest raytraced games like Battlefield V at 60 frames per second.
Laptops with the latest GeForce RTX GPUs are also equipped with:
- WhisperMode – allows GeForce Experience™-connected laptops to run much quieter while gaming, keeping pace with the frame rate while also setting the graphics for optimal efficiency.
- NVIDIA BatteryBoost™ – allowing laptops with GeForce Experience to have 2x more battery life, so that gamers can outlive their opponents.
- NVIDIA G-SYNC® -allows refresh rates up to 144 Hz for smooth and blemish-free gameplay. (Available in selected models).
Content creation, on the go
In addition to providing outstanding gaming performance, GeForce RTX laptops are powerful mobile platforms for the millions of video editors, 3D animators, game streamers and other content creators who demand the best performance to do their job faster and better.
Hardware-accelerated raytracing takes rendering from minutes to seconds, allowing animators to work interactively with their models, with precise highlights, reflections and shadows. NVIDIA RTX’s video processing capabilities allow video editors to work with RAW video up to 6K in real time, and allow broadcasters to create high-quality streams for Twitch, all on the go.
Bundle with Anthem, Battlefield V
For a limited time, players will receive Battlefield V and Anthem with the purchase of a qualifying GeForce RTX 2080 laptop, or they will receive one of the two titles with a purchase of a qualifying GeForce RTX 2070 or RTX 2060 laptop. This promotion will be available in most regions of the world.
