The spiritual successor of Myst will finally have support for virtual reality in a few days, although at the moment its creators have only talked about Oculus Rift.
Obduction successfully completed a Kickstarter campaign no less than in 2013, far exceeding one million dollars thanks to the incentive of having the creators of Myst and Riven. The game arrived on Steam last August and the community reviews have been extremely positive. Well, now its creators confirm that Obduction will arrive on Oculus Home next Monday October 31, which coincides with the 19th anniversary of the release of Riven. Those who supported the Kickstarter campaign will be able to enjoy it a few days before, specifically tomorrow, Thursday, and they will have the opportunity to see what it feels like to explore the immense scenario of the game in virtual reality. By the way, nothing has been commented on the system of locomotion, but in the current game the control is done in a traditional way, so we will have to see how they adapt it to virtual reality to avoid dizziness. In principle the game is exclusive to Oculus Rift, and although we don’t know if this exclusivity will be permanent or temporary, given that the game was funded through Kickstarter it seems logical to think that there will be a SteamVR version at some point.
