As revealed by Kazunori Yamauchi, CEO of Polyphony Digital, in an interview with Eurogamer, the new installment of Gran Turismo Sport will not be fully playable with PlayStation VR.
Just like Driveclub VR, Gran Turismo Sport it was going to be a fully playable title with PlayStation VR, but Kazunori Yamauchi has commented that it will only be a part of the game and not everything will have a virtual reality mode. “One thing we discovered in the development and realization of the game, is that if we did it completely in virtual reality, it was going to demand too much from the player. That’s why there will be a mode called VR Tour,” Yamauchi said.
It is not clear what Yamauchi means by that he will demand too much from the player because in the market we already find car racing titles fully compatible with virtual reality devices, such as Project Cars or the aforementioned Driveclub VR. What do you guys think?
Gran Turismo Sport is scheduled to be released next year and will have optimized support for PlayStation 4 Pro.
