The Sage Gateshead, renowned building dedicated to the performing arts located in England becomes, thanks to Oculus Rift, a huge musical and visual instrument in which percussion will delight our ears to the rhythm of creativity.
Coinciding with the anniversary of the Sage Gateshead, 10 years, various artists from the world of music and the arts, used the spectacular auditorium to perform an unprecedented concert in which the main instrument were the bowels and pillars of the auditorium itself. Walls, stairs, pipes and various parts of it, were the materials responsible for creating spectacular percussions.
And from the hand of Mbryonic and Atomhawk Design comes a curious 3D experience, Play Sage Gateshead, with Unity engine, in which we can create amazing melodies in an immersive way thanks to Oculus Rift (there is also a version for iPad and iPhone, in addition to a version for web browser. We will be able to tour the building to the rhythm of our own musical creation.
The experience features excerpts from the concert itself, “Ten Pulse”. Tom Szirtes, director of Mbryonic comments that they are delighted to be able to work with devices such as Oculus Rift to discover new immersive experiences connecting audiences and artists.
