Interview
How does the market cope with the crisis
I think every crisis is something different from the other, but there is always something in common. Another thing is that not all companies are prepared for the crisis, and often they have
to adapt to unexpected situations.
How to prepare for a potential crisis? For example, you can have less credits, less receivables have different plans from different depth of the crisis, to assume, as
can develop, and thus to be more flexible. Any the current market situation is somehow contributes to the strengthening of some players and leaving others out of the market. So you can
to assume that some companies now, on the contrary, strengthen their position, while others may remain, but will occupy a very small niche.
Much depends on the leadership and professionals who work in the company. The fuse that comes in moments of crisis, caused by the necessity of survival. But there are executives who keep
the fuse for many years, regardless of the crises. In these difficult moments must be very safely and quickly change tactics and strategy of the company, to come up with new and interesting
directions, to find new niches.
Important here above all is flexibility and quick response to constantly changing situation. For the past two or three months, we have seen an increased demand for online technology.
It and remote access, and various videoconferencing technologies, almost everything associated with the provision of remote working places of the employees. But it will not last so long. Six months or more
longer, depending on how much time will be in effect quarantine measures. Today, I repeat, very important role is the speed, how quickly the team can regroup
to take unexpected niche and try to implement possible projects. We’ve TEGRUS tried very quickly to strengthen the team where necessary, fall under
new realities, and, in my opinion, this tactic proved to be successful.
What will happen in the next six months
I think in a year we will see a reverse trend. Staff will return to the offices. Besides, much depends on the corporate culture of the company. The format of a remote operation did not arise
today, this trend is growing in many companies for many years. Some companies previously tried to jump on the remote work, but then returned. Of course, there are
advantages, and disadvantages. Cost reduction is a definite plus, and the potential decline in discipline and work efficiency – getting annoying.
In other words, we must strive to ensure that the company was the most effective. If you want the employees worked in the office, then they will return to the offices. If
the effectiveness of remote work in the company has increased, she will continue this trend. For example, it may be a technology company or developer. Most likely, we will see
mixed trends. But overall, I think the world is conservative, and, if given the opportunity, most employees will return to their original positions and will continue to work as
worked to quarantine.
The rule in the relations of employees and employers
In my opinion, the trend is changing, and it is not connected with the crisis or quarantine – rather it is an evolutionary process. Generations – from baby boomers and ending with generation Z. So or
otherwise, people change their attitude to work, change and requirements for employees. I think if an employee has good skills, he will always be in demand regardless of the market situation.
If the employee is not efficient enough and unable to adjust to the realities – such frames can some time to get rid of, as cost reduction is now standing on the ground
place. If there will be any change in the relationship “employee – company”, it is likely that they will have short-term and after recovery these relations will also gradually
to evolve, just like it was before the crisis.
The personal qualities of the employee, of course, will always be considered, but special attention will now be given of the effectiveness of the team as a whole. For the company it is always important, no matter what
happening in the market. If you want to be competitive, the team should be the same.
The relationship between the state and business
Lee will swing the pendulum in the opposite direction, or the state will appeal manageable, obedient business? I think it will swing, it will all be temporary. Businesses without government assistance
without subsidies or regulation – is very difficult. We see it in Russia and around the world. All about the same picture. Of course, for some time the government will continue to play a big
role in business and will try to build some control arms. Nevertheless, I hope that at the end of the quarantine measures, it will gradually let go of the reins. Now his task is to keep
and to stabilize the situation. When the breakthrough will come, business will feel more freedom. I guess we go back to the old realities.
* * *
So, we are faced with a similar test for the first time, but, again, you need to be prepared for any eventuality. The main thing is to assess the future developments. For example, hardly anyone
think what could happen in reverse, when suddenly something will happen and it will be impossible to trade via Amazon or other online companies.
Now, in a crisis, a lot of opportunities to become a little stronger, a little more nimble. These points need to use the most good for all. To become more efficient, more
popular and to look forward with positivity. I wish everyone to be better than before the crisis. I hope it will work!
