Do you want to meet your friends at a bar to play billiards, darts, or just do the gaming together destroying the place without the consequences of doing it in real life? With Sports Bar VR it is already possible.
Since its launch last June, Pool Nation VR has allowed HTC Vive users to have a few games in this peculiar virtual bar. The possibility of creating an avatar and seeing how the head and hands move while we hear the player’s voice make it a very intense experience, especially for those friends who, for reasons of distance, cannot meet to do the same in real life. Well, Cherry Pop Games and Perilous Orbit have made a great expansion in the game, to the point that they have decided to rename it Sports Bar VR.
The main novelty is the native support of Oculus Touch, as well as Oculus avatars, which will allow us to use our Oculus Home virtual identity and see our friends with the appearance they have defined in their avatar editor. This implies that the game supports Touch gestures, which provides greater realism and interaction possibilities than simply viewing the floating controllers as before. Up to 6 players can enjoy at the same time in the bar.
Sports Bar VR is already available on Oculus Home for € 19.99, but owners of Pool Nation VR on Steam will receive an update soon that will transform the old game into the new one, incorporating the same features of the version that is already available on Oculus Home (mainly, the number of games available on the bar has been expanded). Its creators have not commented on whether or not it will be possible for Steam and Home users to participate in the experience together, it would be fantastic if this were possible.
