Smart glasses, AR glasses, VR goggles — there are several types of gadgets for different purposes. TCL unveils its “display” points to use regardless of location.
The search for the next big “technology thing” will continue in 2021. What comes after mobile? It’s AR glasses, according to marketers of various startups? Or perhaps VR glasses, provided that the performance and form factor at some point reach the standard?
Besides well-known points such as the Oculus Quest 2, the Nreal Light glasses or a new Panasonic, TCL, the Chinese company specializing in consumer electronics, experimenting with portable displays.
Wearable display: movies and games on your nose
In 2020 the TCL showed a prototype portable display. At that time, glasses were sold under the name Project Archery. Two OLED display should be located so that the user has created the illusion of the silver screen.
Digital CES 2021, the company first introduced a formal version called Wearable Display. At the start of sales, the name had changed.
