On December 6, with the arrival of the Touch motion controllers, a free beta of Quill will be available, the tool that Oculus Story Studio has used to create Dear Angelica.
Quill is a tool that allows you to create narrative with static or animated illustrations in virtual reality. The beta will be available on the same day Touch launches, December 6th. Quill’s idea came from the needs of the creative studio behind Dear Angelica, since the story of this new short film required being able to paint it and shape it from within the virtual world.
The tool was developed to allow artists to create and shape their artistic visions, regardless of their stylistic preferences. Being important that Quill did not add anything to an artist’s strokes, unless the artist could control it and modify it completely to achieve his unique style, without filters. That is why the studio worked with different illustrators and painters in order to make it a tool for everyone.
