According to the Protocol report, next week HTC will present two new headsets at ViveCon — Vive Focus 3 Business Edition and Vive Pro 2.
The protocol found mentions of both devices in the company’s documents and reported that both were briefly listed on the European e-commerce site Alzashop.
The Vive Focus 3 Business Edition will be a standalone enterprise headset after the Vive Focus Plus, and the Vive Pro 2 will be a high-end successor to VR for PC compared to the original Vive Pro.
According to the pages of Alzashop, the Vive Focus 3 Business Edition will be sold at a price of 1,474 euros (approximately $ 1,770), and the Vive Pro 2 — 842 euros (approximately $ 1,012). The protocol informs that both devices will be available for purchase before the end of the month.
Over the past few weeks, HTC has been teasing with hardware announcements and confirmed that it will introduce” game-changing ” VR headsets at ViveCon next week, which will be held from May 11 to 12.
More recently, promotional gifs revealed some details of the upcoming devices, including the front of the headset and its tracking cameras embedded above.
HTC’s previous comments suggested that its standalone headset would not be a competitor to Quest. This is consistent with the Protocol report, which indicates that the Vive Focus 3 is aimed at the corporate market and, at a price of about $ 1,700, is not close to the starting price of Quest 2 at $ 299, and yet more than double the starting price of the $ 799 business variant of Quest 2.
The Vive Pro 2 looks like a successor to the original Vive Pro, which was mostly discontinued in March 2020, with the exception of a few Vive Pro Eye models.
