According to information from CNBC, the new service, which will combine the HBO Max and Discovery Plus catalogs, will be called simply “Max”. At the moment, the lawyers are analyzing the name to avoid there being any legal problem, but they are doing the same with other candidates in case the first one cannot be used for some reason. The code name of the new service is “Beam”, but it is very unlikely that this will be the official one.
The other interesting fact of the case is that although the app will be joint, Warner Bros. Discovery plans to have the contents of all its brands independently. So, at the beginning you will be able to jump and focus on the HBO, Discovery, DC Comics and Warner Bros. sections., depending on what you want to see, instead of having everything mixed up.
