The developer of virtual and augmented reality games, which has IPs like Bait!, expect an increase in users that allows a viable multiplayer market.
Resolution Games, studio responsible for virtual reality and augmented games such as the Bait! or the recent Angry Birds FPS: First Person Slingshot, has achieved $ 7.5 million in a series B funding round led by MizMaa Ventures. New investors such as GP Bullhound, Fly Forever and David Helgason (the founder of Unity) have also participated in it, as well as previous ones such as GV, Partech, Bonnier Ventures, Creandum and Sisu Game Ventures. The team will use the funds to drive its growth and expand its IPs portfolio. This new round brings the total captured to date by the company to 13.5 million.
“We are very excited to have these great, high-caliber leaders join our team and to see continued support from our current investors,” said Tommy Palm, CEO of Resolution Games. “With this group behind us, we can work to scale and be better prepared to take advantage of market maturity.”
Having released a few days ago the Magic Leap version of the popular game Angry Birds, the study estimates a growth in the user base of VR and AR that will allow to achieve a sustainable market of multiplayer titles. “With the amount of interest we’re seeing in the industry around our titles, coupled with exciting new platforms like Oculus Quest, we envision a greater volume of players and a viable multiplayer market. Needless to say, these are exciting times,” concludes Palm.
