The driving simulator, from Studio 397, already has support for virtual reality, thanks to the latest beta of the game that also adds compatibility with DirectX 11.
Studio 397 has released a new beta of rFactor 2 which adds support from DirectX 11 and virtual reality for Rift and Live. The team has been working on these two features for a few months now and is already ready to share them through the latest beta of the game. It is an open beta, so they will continue to improve the graphic quality and optimize its performance. To download the beta, we have to access the Betas tab, in the game properties on Steam, and select the v1108-DX11-open-beta. The virtual reality mode is activated by checking the corresponding box from the video settings button of the game launcher, and it will be necessary to run SteamVR first. You can find more information on the official announcement page.
All the menus and user interface have been adapted for virtual reality, but we will have to use the keyboard and mouse to move around them. The beta is accompanied by 5 new cars and circuits, and the full launch of these new additions will take place in the coming months. Studio 397 plans to release content updates and improvements such as a new user interface. rFactor 2 was released in 2013 and is available on Steam for €29.99.
