The adventures of Rick and Morty come to us directly from Adult Swim for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive as ‘Rick and Morty Simulator: Virtual Rick-ality’. Available on the Oculus Store and Steam.
In January 2016 we already knew that something like this was going to happen. The idea of a genius and totally crazy scientist who moves through space, time and other dimensions has made many turns. It started (minimum) in the horror stories of H.P. Lovecraft, was twisted to the opposite in Doctor Who (and the idea of a more ‘normal’ companion was added), stumbled upon The Adventures of Bill and Ted, passed from Back to the future and getting horny from this last movie and his Doc and Marty, he got to the cartoons of Adult Swim like the adventures of Rick, a crazy and drunk old scientist, next to Morty, his silly and out-going grandson. Now, the latter evolve a little more and today, April 20, they reach us in the PC virtual reality stores as Rick and Morty simulator: Virtual Rick-ality, now available for €27.99.
Both for the Oculus Store as for Steam. Use controllers and room scale, keep in mind that it requires a play area of at least 2 x 1.5 meters. The creators of the game are Owlchemy Labs, and will use the latest technology already used in their Job Simulator.
In the game, we will be a Morty clone, created to do tasks for Rick, while exploring Rick’s garage, the rest of the Smiths’ house (Morty’s parents) and strange and very crazy worlds.
Justin Roiland, the co-author of Rick and Morty (and the one who doubles the two in the American version and in the game), already brought us a sample of his humor in virtual reality, which we have already talked about, with the title Accounting. Do you remember?
At the moment, it doesn’t seem that the game will have another language besides English, but at least we will be able to hear the original voices of Justin Roiland.
